World AIDS Day Exhibition 2024

Nothing about us without us: Putting lived-experience at the heart of research

Dates on show: 1st December - January 31st 2025

Location: First Floor Mezzanine, University of Edinburgh Main Library, George Square, Edinburgh, EH8 9LJ

This display demonstrates a partnership between the ‘Unseen Hands’ and ‘Leaving an Impression’ projects which aim to explore the lived-experience of blood-borne viruses such as HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis C.

Unseen Hands is a partnership between the MRC-University of Glasgow Centre for Virus Research, University of Edinburgh, Terrence Higgins Trust and Waverley Care. The projects aims to connect researchers working on blood-borne viruses to the people living with these viruses every day.

Leaving an Impression is a research and impact project funded by the University of St Andrews' Impact and Innovation Fund. The project explores the ways in which haptic interaction can be used as an alternative method of communicating emotion and experience.
