
Bats Go Viral
The BatsGoViral team, also known as the Streicker Lab, investigate pathogen transmission between species. They aim to identify fundamental ecological and evolutionary processes that govern disease transmission in natural systems and use this information to fuel evidence-based actions to prevent and control diseases with real-world importance. The team activitly lead and participate in several engagement projects which aims to share their knowledge and understand public opinions where bats and rabies are prominent.

AMPLIFY: Glasgow Science Centre Exhibit
In March 2023, the BatsGoViral team won a competition hosted by UofG MVLS and Glasgow Science Centre. They have now created their own exhibit at GSC!

COSTA RICA: Knowledge Attitudes and Practices
A collaboration projet with The University of Costa Rica and SENASA. Field work, surveys and focus groups are being conducted to understand ministerial and public opinions on vampire bats and rabies.

POLICY MEETING: Tropical Bat Viruses in Peru
We held a meeting in Amazonas, Peru to engage with ministerial stakeholders and hear their concerns about viruses in tropical bats in Peru. Outcomes will be shard in a policy report.
